Metro Istanbul carried 65 million 200 thousand passengers in December

Metro Istanbul published its Business Performance Scorecard for December 2019. Metro Istanbul performed 153.495 journeys with 844 vehicles in December and carried 65 million 200 thousand passengers.

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Affiliate Metro Istanbul is Turkey's largest urban rail systems operator and it continues to share information with the people of Istanbul regarding its operations for the sake of its transparent and accountable municipalism concept. Metro Istanbul’s December 2019 Operating Performance Scorecard is published.

The number of passengers is increased by 3 million 900 thousand compared to 2018...
Metro Istanbul performed 153.495 journeys at 158 stations with 844 vehicles in December 2019 according to this scorecard. The number of journeys was 148,500 in the same period of the previous year. Vehicles travelled for 8.2 million kilometres in December 2018 and it reached 8.4 million kilometres in the same month of this year. As a result of these efforts, the number of passengers, which was 61 million 300 thousand in December 2018 is increased in December 2019 and reached 65 million 200 thousand.

The number of journeys on time is above the average.
Metro Istanbul performed % 98, 91 of its services on time in December 2019 according to this scorecard whilst average performed journey rate of the international benchmarking organization Nova-Comet, which has 38 member of 38 metros on five continents is % 95,1.

The time to respond to the complaints from the passengers targeted for 5 days occurred as 2.5 days whilst average time to respond to the complaints is set as maximum 10 days by EN13816 standard. When we look at the number of incidents per 1 million passengers in December 2019, we see that Nova-Comet's average is 4 whilst Metro Istanbul’s is 2.3 according to the data in the performance report.
