He competed with the tram and the winner is sports …

Award winning athlete Batuhan Bugra Eruygun competed with the tram in between Eminonu and Karakoy stations as a part of the European Week of Sports activities and the athlete reached the finish line first.
Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) organised a series of activities as part of the European Week of Sports in between 23rd and 30th September. Within the context of these activities Metro Istanbul hosted an event where award winning athlete Batuhan Bugra Eruygun competed with the tram. 
 

He ran faster than the tram…
Batuhan Bugra Eruygun is an Official Emissary of European Week of Sports for Turkey and he is the first sportsman who was able to run 110 meters hurdle race under 14 seconds and 60 meters hurdle race under 8 seconds in history of Turkish Athletics. Batuhan Bugra Eruygun took part in a series of events to encourage people of Istanbul to participate in sports events during the European Week of Sports. As part of the awareness activities, the athlete competed with the tram in between Eminonu and Karakoy stations of T1 Kabatas-Bagcilar Tram Line and he finished the race before the tram. 

“I pushed my limits…”
Batuhan Bugra Eruygun said that it was quite a different experience racing with the tram and added that, “This activity we carried out at the most beautiful hours of Istanbul was one of the best experiences of my life. Sports is the winner of this competition on our journey to increase the awareness of the people of Istanbul about sports. I do not know about the train but I really pushed my limits. We get positive reactions from the people. As a result of this awareness activity, I became a nominee for the prize which is given by the European Union to its emissaries. We are looking forward to get the award from the European Commission and bring it to Turkey”. 
Citizens watched the competition with a great interest, despite the fact that the event was organised at the early hours of the morning.
